In the past we were able to grant every
request for a refund and we did. However due to an increase in fraud this has
become much more difficult to do. In the past we granted every request for a
refund 100% and still managed to keep refunds at less than 2% of all
transactions.
Fraud protection is something that we take
very seriously. The transaction processing company that handles every
transaction has one of the best fraud protection systems available. This
is not only for your protection but ours as well.
There are some types of fraud that are hard to
protect against that affect you as well as the online merchant.
Example #1- ( name withheld ) - Joined as
a member and then sent an email only 15 minutes later claiming she had
not authorized the transaction - even thoughthe fraud protection networkshowed thatthe same computer that was used to Join and then Cancel,
was then used again to email us and request a refund saying the original charge
was not authorized. She had clearly joined, canceled and requested a refund
claiming fraud via email all in 15 minutes all from the same computer.
Joining - Canceling and then requesting a refund is called Theft and Fraud.
The Visa-MasterCard Network will catch on, and her next online purchase may be
declined. All merchants have to pay fees for every transaction even
refunds and the Visa MasterCard Network knows when you commit fraud. They
can and will contact you, us and any processing company that works through the
Visa-MasterCard system to request the details when a charge is disputed.
Example #2 (name withheld) - Requested a
full refund saying he had never used his membership. Letting a membership renew
month after month and then claiming it was not used is irresponsible. People
never do that when they get a membership at a gym or any other business, yet
feel it is ok to do it online, and expect that we have the ability to cover for
those people too irresponsible to manage their own finances and expect us to
make up the difference.
We make every possible effort to show
exactly what is on the members side before you join and explain exactly what we
do and who we are. We are a Legitimate Business and help many, many people
achieve very substantial savings every month. However due to a few bad apples
every month we have been forced to review each case prior to every refund.
We take very seriously your privacy, security
and protection when making purchases online. For this reason we will need
assistance from you to provide - the email address used to sign up and the user
ID and password that was sent to that email address granting access to the
members directory. Remember as a legitimate business we do not have access to a
lot of this information ourselves. This is for your protection. We will never
ask for -or- have ever had any access to any credit card information.
(When a member joins we simply get an email stating that a new member has joined
from the processing company that's all.)
If indeed a fraud has been committed we
will work with you to make sure you receive a full refund and to assist with the
proper authorities to provide them the information they need to protect you and
track down those responsible for the fraud.
